About this directory
What this site is
Connecticut Flooring Contractor Guide lists 139 flooring contractor businesses across Connecticut, from small hardwood refinishing crews to larger tile and carpet installers. It’s built for homeowners and property managers trying to figure out which local flooring company is actually worth calling, without wading through scattered review sites or paid ad placements dressed up as recommendations.
We are also honest about the other half of what we do. Connecticut Flooring Contractor Guide is an independent directory and comparison resource, and we also generate enquiries for local providers: when you ask to be matched with someone, we pass your request along to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee for that introduction. That arrangement is disclosed on the quote page, and it never touches how a business is scored or ranked here.
Where the listing data comes from
Every listing starts with public business information: name, address, service area, phone number, and similar basics. From there, we pull in recent Google reviews and summarize the sentiment and themes we find, star rating, review volume, and how complete the listing itself is. We do not copy or republish review text. If you want to read what customers actually wrote, we link straight out to the business’s Google listing so you can see the source yourself.
How the ranking works
Rankings come from a published rubric applied to that data, nothing else. There’s no phone call, handshake, or invoice that moves a business up the list. The rubric weighs star ratings, volume of reviews, and listing completeness, and it includes a statistical adjustment so a brand-new business with five glowing reviews doesn’t automatically outrank a contractor that’s been earning steady reviews for a decade. The full breakdown of how each factor is weighted lives on our /methodology/ page.
A business can request corrections to its own factual details, hours, address, service area, that kind of thing. What it cannot do is edit its own score, sentiment summary, or position in the ranking. Those come from the data and the rubric alone.

Sponsorship, when it appears
Some pages may include a paid placement. When they do, it’s labeled “Sponsored,” shown in its own section apart from the ranked list, and it has zero bearing on where any business lands in the earned rankings. If you see a business ranked #1, that position was calculated, not purchased.
Who runs this
The directory is published by True Level Media, a company that started building independent trade directories for contractors in 2026, beginning with flooring here in Connecticut. Rankings are never for sale, listings are refreshed monthly with closed businesses removed, and any paid placement stays clearly separated from the earned list. True Level Media also operates lead-generation sites in this trade, but that side of the business has no input into how scores or rankings are calculated. You can reach the publisher at hello@truelevelmedia.com or through truelevelmedia.com.
Editorial oversight of the rankings sits with Dana Whitfield, Editor, who maintains the rubric and reviews how it’s applied.
How current is the data
We refresh listing data monthly. Each individual listing also carries a “last verified” stamp so you can see exactly when we last checked it, rather than trusting a vague claim that the whole site is up to date.

FAQ
- Does paying for a sponsored spot improve a business's ranking?
- No. Sponsored placements are labeled and shown separately from the ranked list. The rubric that calculates rankings never factors in sponsorship.
- Can a flooring contractor change its own review sentiment or score?
- No. A listed business can correct factual details like its address or hours, but the score, sentiment summary, and ranking position are calculated from the data and the published rubric, not editable by the business.
- How often is the directory updated?
- Listing data across the site is refreshed monthly, and each listing shows a last verified date so you can check when it was last confirmed.
- Where do the reviews come from?
- We synthesize recent Google reviews for sentiment and themes but don't republish the review text itself. Each listing links out to the business's Google page if you want to read reviews directly.
